Ghana is a preferred destination for doing business in West Africa, according to a 2019 report by the World Bank, Ghana's economy was considered the fastest growing in the world and the country has developed into a well-established business destination for investors seeking a business environment with committed and progressive engagement between government and the private sector.

Ghana has attracted the attention of foreign companies for its natural resources and wealth, the most important of which are: natural gas, minerals, timber, gold, diamonds and oil. Ghana is one of the world's largest cocoa exporters and agriculture remains a major economic sector that provides income for about half of Ghanaians. With Ghana's economy being one of the most successful in the region, it remains highly dependent on international finance and foreign investment.
