Bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Ghana

The State of Qatar and the Republic of Ghana enjoy distinguished bilateral relations. HH Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, visited Accra in December 2017, at the invitation of President Nana Akufo-Addo. That was followed by an official visit by the President of the Republic of Ghana to the State of Qatar in November 2018, during which several bilateral cooperation agreements were signed between the two countries in various fields.

 

Agreements and Memoranda of Understanding signed with the Republic of Ghana

  • Cooperation agreement between Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
  • An agreement to establish a trade and investment committee between the two countries
  • Agreement for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income
  • Memorandum of Understanding between the Qatar Olympic Committee and the Ghanaian Ministry of Youth and Sports in the field of sports
  • Aviation Services Agreement between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the Republic of Ghana
  • Draft Agreement on Encouragement and Mutual Protection of Investments
  • A draft agreement to regulate the employment of labor between the government of the State of Qatar and the government of the Republic of Ghana
  • Memorandum of Understanding in the field of sports
  • Agreement on the abolition of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and special passports between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the Republic of Ghana
  • Memorandum of Understanding between the General Authority of Civil Aviation in the State of Qatar and its counterpart in the Republic of Ghana
